Sonya Madeira Stamp, Managing Partner

Sonya Madeira Stamp has over 17 years of experience working in India and Singapore with clients across industry sectors. She set up Rice Communications in January 2009 to add value to her clients with her experience working at some of the largest consultancies in the world as well as with boutique firms. Sonya is deeply committed to building long-term relationships with the clients at Rice as well as to lead a team of highly energized and talented communications professionals. Under her guidance, Rice Communications was awarded the PR Consultancy of the Year 2012 (Local) by the Institute of PR Singapore.

James Brasher, Director

James has over 14 years communications, media and journalism experience in Asia Pacific. At Rice, James’ focus is on providing strategic counsel to the agency’s key clients and overseeing business development. During his career, James has provided counsel to over 60 organisations across a broad range of industries.

Grace Eio, Partner ,Financial Controller

Grace has over 18 years of finance and management experience. Prior to joining Rice, she worked in other PR agency from 2004 to 2009. Grace is results – oriented with a consistent track record of delivering profitability through analysis and process improvements in broad areas of the business operations. Her core strengths include business and financial budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.

Donna Garcia, Account Director

Donna has 10 years of experience in Corporate communications, Government Relations and Public Affairs in Manila and Singapore. Donna has supported global brands including Inmarsat, Intel, Kimberly Clark, Bayer, American Standard, CalEnergy, Middle East Coal, Discovery Networks, National Instruments, Emerson Network Power, and Henkel. She also had extensive experience in grassroots communications driving campaigns for industry advocacy groups such as CASBAA, IFPI and the MPA.

Mansi Maheshwari, Account Director

Mansi Maheshwari has close to nine years of experience in the development of strategic public relations and integrated marketing programmes for brands, organisations and personalities across various industries in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. Over the years, Mansi has developed an interest and aptitude for integrated marketing communications strategies and has supported brands like Heineken, UPS, the Singapore Tourism Board and Sofitel So Singapore. At Rice, Mansi’s responsibilities include people, client and company development, as well as new business and skills training, with the ultimate goal to increase efficiency and effectiveness for the organisation’s clients. In addition to her professional commitments, Mansi dedicates her time to select global charitable and Indian arts initiatives.

Anna Goulding

Anna Goulding, Account Director

Anna moved from the UK to Singapore earlier this year, bringing with her more than seven years of experience in public relations and communications. Working across a broad range of high profile B2B and consumer accounts, she has spent the last four years operating at a senior level in the management of award-winning, multi-industry PR campaigns. A qualified UK journalist, Anna also ran her own PR consultancy, Goulding Public Relations based in Newcastle, UK for two years. Anna has a first class Bachelor’s degree in English and Sociology (BA) and a Master’s degree in Journalism (MA), along with a Diploma from the National Council for Teaching Journalists, UK (NCTJ).

Hyacinths Pennefather, Senior Consultant

Hyacinths has over nine years of experience working in the communications industry both in India and in Singapore. In India, Hyacinths worked with leading media houses like MTV India and Times of India and moved to Singapore in 2008 to pursue her Master’s degree in Media and Communications from NTU. She is a skilled PR professional with three years of experience in local and regional coordination (including events), under her belt.

Ylana Giauque, Consultant

Ylana has a range of skills and experience across communications and stakeholder relations at both the strategic planning and delivery levels and has strong experience working within a range of environments including infrastructure, transport, services, local government and state government in Australia. She has four years’ experience in community relations and spent 2.5 years working in-house on Australia’s largest road infrastructure project, Airport Link, before undertaking agency work. Ylana graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism).

Rasyida Samsudin, Consultant

A seasoned PR Consultant with close to two years’ experience, Rasyida is familiar with the local and regional media landscape. She was previously an Account Executive with a multinational PR Consultancy agency and is experienced in campaign executions for technology clients which include VMware (APJ) and Tata Communications. She was also responsible for the PR activities of National Parks Board Gardens by the Bay, the launch of the new Porsche 911, and is experienced in providing general support for other corporate clients. As a PR Consultant, Rasyida is experienced in managing regional clients’ accounts, coordinating PR activities across Asia Pacific with network agencies. Rasyida graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Communication Studies (Honours).

Amala Naravane, Consultant

Amala joined Rice in the summer of 2012, bringing with her a keen interest in public relations and communications. Amala works closely with account teams to support the execution of PR activities, campaigns and events across a range of clients. In a short period of time at Rice, she has successfully managed media outreach for clients across a number of industries including mobile marketing, social media marketing, cyber-security, online retail, and research and analytics. Amala graduated from Singapore Management University with a Bachelors’ Degree in Business Management and majored in marketing and corporate communications.

Khadijah Bte Abdul Malik, PRC

Khadijah graduated from Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) with a diploma in Mass Communications. She joined Rice Communications to gain practical experience and deepen her knowledge in Public Relations. With her eagerness to acquire new skills and knowledge, she plans to further her studies in Mass Communications as she professionally grows with the company. She is a firm believer of balance: work hard, play hard.

Ambreen Z Momin, Consultant

Ambreen Momin graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature (Honours). Internships at the Peranakan Museum and leading India expat magazine, India SE, allowed her to hone her research and journalistic skills. Ambreen speaks 5 languages in varying degrees of fluency, with English, Spanish and Hindi being the three in which she is most capable. Ambreen aims to leverage her skills, knowledge and creativity culled from a diverse array of experiences in the academe, heritage and non-profit /volunteer sectors and media in kick starting her PR career.

Joel Lah, Consultant

With over a year of experience in the public relations industry in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region, Joel supports a number of clients across the technology, corporate and consumer industries. During his time at Rice, he has secured multiple media coverage in various publications across Asia Pacific. His experience includes the coordination and execution of a media familiarisation trip for Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa in Thailand. Joel has a wide variety of interests ranging from sports, outdoor activities, music and motorsports. He graduated from University of Canterbury (New Zealand) with a Bachelor of Commerce - Endorsement in Marketing.

Sheryl Tong, Intern

Sheryl Tong is currently in her last semester studying Marketing and Public Relations at Curtin University. Being new in PR, she takes great interest in learning the ropes and honing her skills in content development, media relations, events and strategic planning. She’s also keenly interested in digital media. Sheryl is a good team player with an attitude that is always ready to learn. She loves food and travel, spending her free time hunting for culinary delights and exploring new places that are within her means.

Justinian Liew, Intern

Justinian graduated from the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) with an Advanced Diploma in Mass Communications. Through this internship with the company, he hopes to get a taste of public relations and take his writing skills to the next level. A dedicated team player, Justinian has been involved in several youth projects aiming to give youths-at-risk an avenue to develop their leadership and social skills. He hopes that his experience in community causes will give his work for clients a more human touch.
