PRS Accreditation: A Distinctive Recognition for Public Relations Professionals

Ms Sonya Madeira, AMIPRS, Managing Partner, Rice Communications Pte Ltd

Sonya feels that accreditation has given her a new confidence in her own capabilities and validated her choice to build a career in public relations and communications that she made some 15 years ago.

Sonya holds a Marketing Management degree from India and has attended local refresher courses. Sonya launched Rice Communications in January 2009. She said that accreditation has provided her the opportunity to add a local (Singapore) flavour to her existing qualifications. Sonya strongly recommends eligible PR practitioners to be accredited.

“At Rice, we hold IPRS in high esteem. We share its aspirations particularly in terms of building a positive public image for the PR profession, promoting ethical standards, and advocating professional integrity. As an accredited member, I am able to put this into practice and as the head of a young agency that is building its name not just in Singapore but across the region, I believe that we can leverage on the industry recognition in the long term,” added Sonya.
