On the 28th January 2010, the team from Rice Communications gathered at Uluru with our clients, media, business partners, friends and family to celebrate our first successful year of business. Called the ONE party, it was a celebration of one year, one team and one million, and we’re glad that so many turned up to celebrate it with us.

The theme for the night was “bling” and everyone more than lived up to it, arriving in their finest and, dare-we-say, blingiest outfits. Sonya, our Managing Partner, was the brightest star of the night, welcoming friends old and new to the party in her glittery sequined dress that was nearly as bright as the glowing smile on her face.

“Rice is just a year old and the overwhelming support we saw at our first anniversary party really demonstrates that we are making a mark for ourselves. It was great to be surrounded by clients, media, family and friends as we celebrated our achievements of the last 12 months. We were also delighted that we surpassed our targets for our rice donation to Beyond Social Services. Everyone gave generously, and in the end, we gathered almost 1.6 tonnes of rice going to needy families, which is all the more meaningful with Chinese New Year just around the corner. Thank you all once again, and we look forward to an even more successful 2010.”

The night was full of laughter, conversation, and the sound of glasses clinking, as guests drank to the successes of Sonya and her team. Safe to say that a good time was had by all, and while we’ve had to put our heads down and get back to work, we’re all looking forward to the next time we get to meet everyone again.
